MICROTEC is the result of its creators’ insight and passion for electronics and of their ten years’ working experience in the racing departments of Cagiva and Aprilia, providing technical support to motorcycling legends such as Virginio Ferrari, Marco Lucchinelli, Eddie Lawson, Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi.
Its acquired know-how has enabled MICROTEC to work ever since its creation with prestigious manufacturers among which Aprilia, Condaria, Derbi, Digitek, Dometic, Electrolux, Ferrari, Husqvarna, Magneti Marelli, MV Agusta, Pramac and TM, developing conditioning controls, instrument panels, inverters, UPS, capacitive ignition systems, engine management units and other high-tech electronic products..
Over the years, MICROTEC has expanded, strengthened and specialised its business, and has improved even further the quality of its products. MICROTEC deals in advanced electronics for industrial, civil and automotive applications, from design to engineering, with solutions for air conditioners, power inverters, generators, engine management units, data acquisition and visualization, also in racing field.

ECU, engine management unit.
Gasoline four stroke engines used on modern cars and motorcycles, are now completely managed and controlled by these sophisticated electronic systems, which are commonly defined "ECU's".

ECU
An ECU is a very complex and technologically advanced system.
Usually consists of input conditioning circuits which adapt the signals from the engine sensors, output drivers to activate components of the injection and ignition (and more), any static and volatile memories and a microprocessor that is the heart of the unit, with the task to process the information coming from sensors (temperature, speed, throttle, etc) and drive in real-time and with the right timing sequence injectors and spark plugs.

In factory ECU's, all parameters are preset to the factory and it is often impossible to modify them.

Thus the need for a more open and flexible system, that allows users to be able to adjust these parameters, in order to optimize engine performance, reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

MICROTEC offers a wide range of ECU's, with different characteristics but all accumunate by the possibility of complete customization of the parameters for ignition and injection. The user can connect the system to the PC via serial port RS232 or USB and, through a software specially designed for each model, monitor the values of sensors and inputs, and adjust several settings to obtain the desired performance.

The availability of a CAN line, allows to further extend the functionality of the unit with the addition of digital dashboards and data-logger, these last very useful in racing competitions for the real-time analysis of performance on the field.
